Neuro_CT_Head: 31 M, HIV, AMS.

History: 31-year-old male with HIV and altered mental status:

Findings:

Parenchyma: There are multiple areas of vasogenic edema in the bilateral thalami, left inferior frontal lobe, left midbrain, and pons. No acute intracranial hemorrhage or large territory infarct.

Ventricles and extra-axial spaces: Slight deformity of the third ventricle due to mass effect.

Visualized paranasal sinuses: Clear.

Mastoid air cells: Clear.

Bones: Normal.

Additional comment: None.

IMPRESSION:

Multiple areas of vasogenic edema in the supratentorial and infratentorial brain. No herniation. Findings are concerning for metastatic disease or multifocal infection given history of immunocompromise.
