CLINICAL HISTORY: 69-year-old male with left temporal lobe hypodensity on outside head CT, with several week history of altered mental status, concern for stroke and/or herpes encephalitis.
FINDINGS:
There is no ventricular enlargement. No abnormal extra axial fluid
collection is identified.
IMPRESSION:
1. Left temporal lobe, insula, and hippocampus hypodensity is concerning for herpes encephalitis.
