MRI INTERNAL AUDITORY CANAL AND TEMPORAL BONES WITH AND WITHOUT CONTRAST:
CLINICAL HISTORY: 68-year-old woman with a history of a presumed right endolymphatic sac tumor. Please evaluate.
FINDINGS:
Fluid spaces of the inner ears: Again seen is T1 hyperintense signal within the right-sided
vestibule and
semicircular canals, which may represent proteinaceous material. No abnormality is seen on the left side.
Mastoids and middle ears: Normal.
BRAIN:
Parenchyma: No acute hemorrhage, infarction, mass, or abnormal enhancement.
Ventricles and extra-axial spaces: Appropriate for age.
Orbits: Normal.
Visualized paranasal sinuses: Clear.
Bones: Normal.
Additional comment: None.
IMPRESSION:
1. Stable appearance of an 11 x 8 mm retrolabyrinthine mass with increased blood flow most compatible with an
endolymphatic sac tumor. Hyperintense T1 signal within the right vestibule and semicircular canals may represent proteinaceous material.
