Neuro_CT_Head: 59 M, worst headache of life.

CT HEAD WITHOUT CONTRAST:

CLINICAL HISTORY: 59-year-old male who was riding his bike when he experienced the worst headache of his life.

FINDINGS:

Parenchyma, ventricles, and extra-axial spaces: Hyperdense material is present in the interpeduncular fossa and right suprasellar, perimesencephalic, and prepontine cisterns compatible with acute subarachnoid hemorrhage. A small amount of layering hemorrhage is seen within the left occipital horn of the lateral ventricle likely due to redistribution. There is no associated mass effect or ventriculomegaly.

Visualized paranasal sinuses: Air-fluid level in the left sphenoid sinus which can be seen in the setting of acute sinusitis.

Mastoid air cells: Clear.

Bones: No focal abnormality.

Additional comment: None.

IMPRESSION:

1. Acute subarachnoid hemorrhage in the interpeduncular fossa and right suprasellar, perimesencephalic, and prepontine cisterns with a small amount of layering intraventricular hemorrhage within the left occipital horn of the lateral ventricle likely due to redistribution.
